Stream music from Google Docs with Cloud Music

Stream music from Google Docs with Cloud Music

Posted on Jul 27, 2010 11:36 am by Dan MorenMacworld.com

With the advent of the smartphones, streaming media has reached new potential. No longer do you have to worry about whether or not you copied that newest album to your iPod: as long as you’ve got a wireless connection, you can probably use an app to play it back right from your home computer.
iPhone app Cloud Musicattempts to make this streaming even easier. Instead of having to set up software on your home computer to serve up your media, Cloud Music can stream right from a free Google Docs account. Earlier this year, Google added the ability to upload files of any type to your Google Docs account—that includes music files too.
Cloud Music can stream MP3, MP4, and WAV audio files. If you bundle a bunch of tracks into a folder with a cover image, you’ll even see that image as you’re listening. The app can even cache files up to a user-defined amount, presumably for offline playback (it’s difficult to tell exactly what the features are, since much of Cloud Music’s documentation appears to be in Japanese).
The app also says you’ll be able to play back music shared to you by your friends, presumably through the use of a Google Docs shared folder. Either way, you’ll have to upload the files from your computer; Cloud Music doesn’t handle that part.
Cloud Music is $2 and requires iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.1.3 or later and a Google Docs account.

Mark Knight & Wolfgang Gartner - 'Conscindo'

****OUT NOW AT BEATPORT*****
Two of Beatport's biggest selling artists Mark Knight and Wolfgang Gartner team up to deliver this summer's anthem 'Conscindo'. Latin for 'tear to pieces', the track was aptly named by a competition winner, and doesn't disappoint.
Bubbling since this year's Miami WMC, the much anticipated release has already gained massive support from Axwell, Tiesto and fans alike, and has featured heavily on Pete Tong's Radio 1 'Essential Selection' show.
Now, the time is finally here to unleash the monster that is CONSCINDO and tear those dance floor speakers to pieces.
Available exclusively via Beatport & Toolroom's website on Friday 9th July.
You need this in your life!
Listen to a short clip Conscindo by Mark Knight & Wolfgang Cartner below.

'M.I.T.T.' - Sharam (from the double banger single 'MACH 2')

Sharam  -  'M.I.T.T.'  - exclusivly on the  MACH 2 EP

Fresh
I'm so fresh, I'm so clean
Got the lips and got the skin
Got the skin got that thing
I'm so fresh and I'm so.................................
Just as the vocal sample exclaims Sharam is ‘fresh’, ‘clean’, and he defiantly ‘got that thing’!!! Throughout the twelve minute journey of snares, bongs, breaks, stripped vocal sample and drops. The first half of the track taunts us with a gaggle of overlapped layers of beats which amplify harder and harder until a jaw dropping break, but rest assured the second half is ill mastered and finally reveals the vocal sample more clearly along with the recurring snares. From the beginning the track keeps you smiling and moving your body until the last second of the song!
“I wanted to create hypnotic pandemonium on the floor with this record, the way DJ Pierre did with his Wild Pitch mixes in the early 90s… The Mach series is about my continuing evolution as a producer, making the kinds of tracks that I want to hear on the dance floor as a DJ. My philosophy has always been to create and promote good music devoid of any limitations.”- Sharam
(source: http://sharam.com/mach-2-dj-comments/)
Its safe to say the ‘hypnotic pandemonium’ was achieved with ‘M.I.T.T.’ (and ‘One Night’ - the second track of the‘MACH 2' production). Sharam has been growing and evolving through many musical styles producing legendary tracks that all DJ’s are and forever will be mixing and remixing. But will we ever see another Deep Dish record?
First enjoy ‘M.I.T.T.’ here:
Then go buy it here:

Sander Kleinenberg - ‘M.A.N.I.A.C.’ [Little Mountain Recordings]

Bomb Alert! Sander Kleinenberg’s ‘M.A.N.I.A.C.’

Sander Kleinenberg’s new single ‘M.A.N.I.A.C.’ isn’t a cover version of the ‘Flashdance’ theme song—how awesome would that be?—but it’s definitely got an ‘80s vibe to it. The bassline line pays homage to Giorgio Moroder’s chugging Italo, and the syn-drum fills are clearly inspired by Jan Hammer’s music for ‘Miami Vice’. The groove, meanwhile, is an unusual fusion of progressive house and nu-disco, long on drama and filled with psychoactive effects
It’s a dead simple hook, but it has a way of standing out in a set. No wonder ‘M.A.N.I.A.C.’ is getting played by a diverse list of DJs including Eric Prydz, Dubfire, Sharam, Sasha, and Nick Warren. Following ‘R.Y.A.N.L.’ and ‘T.I.O.N.’, the seven-minute tune is the third single from Kleinenberg’s forthcoming album ‘5K’, out this September on Little Mountain Recordings. (Written by: Alex Hughes)

Sander Kleinenberg's 'M.A.N.I.A.C.' is currently # ONE of the beatport.com July Top 10 downloads

Seriously a GREAT and DELIGHTFUL track to listen to over and over again! This is a reminder of what Sander Kleinenberg used to spin like back in the day... I literally made this my ring tone (sometimes I don't pick up just to continue listening to the song lol)...

ENJOY IT and if you didn't buy it yet GOOO GET ITTT!!!!!!

Richard Davis - Gone Away (label: SAFER)

Talking to David Brown from Swayzak last year, we briefly touched on their friend and sometime vocalist Richard Davis. Brown told me that Davis worked at his own pace and no one could force him to produce more of his dreamy, heart-felt, synthetic house. One look at his discography will confirm that the Berlin-based Davis is in no hurry to flood the world with his records, though his limited output clearly adheres to the maxim of quality over quantity. Five years since his warmly received album, Details, Davis returns with a three tracker for his new label Safer (perhaps hinting that we will begin to see more regular material from the singer/producer). Davis hasn’t been completely incommunicado over this time; he’s provided vocals for Holger Zilske, Bomb The Bass and Swayzak amongst others, but What You Are marks his first new foray into production since Details. Typically brooding and sweetly melancholic, Davis treads a line between pop and deep house that would spell commercial success for the artist were radio stations more openminded towards their definitions of pop.

On “Gone Away” Davis sings a familiar song of lament, recalling a relationship gone awry, perhaps of a protagonist who has inspired many such sentiments from the singer in the past. Davis shows his song-writing skills here, not just with his cool, controlled voice but with a track that manages to pair heavily synthetic sounds with authentic-sounding orchestral strings. The vocals on “Remind You” are heavily treated, sounding almost like they’ve been reversed and are bleached out against the background of the dub heavy track. The sparkling glissando of notes Davis strings out over the deep, low-pitched bass line contrasts beautifully, giving a hypnotic feel to the track and anchoring the higher melodies in place. Synth lovers are taken care of with the new wave-sounding title track, which is all gleaming, polished lines, chromed plated house. Davis’ vocals are sparse, used only to accent the track, which is the most energetic, DJ-friendly of the three. I’ve heard Davis’ music being described as mature house music for the older heads, and there is no denying that even when his productions veer more towards the dance floor they are still easily approachable by the armchair listener. The What You Are EP marks the welcome re-emergence of Richard Davis, and his new Safer label hopefully portends a more steady stream of material from the producer. (source: http://www.littlewhiteearbuds.com/review/richard-davis-what-you-are/)

The Chemical Brothers - Swoon

The Chemical Brothers - Swoon

(album name: Further)

The Chemical Brothers (Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons) new released album ‘Further’ has recently been released featuring a track called ‘Swoon’ and as history has proved (their last five albums hit number 1) this is an incredible track too. THe melody, the vocals, the rhythm - they all work seamlessly and perfectly. It has already been featured in podcasts, radios shows, live events (the chemical brothers are on the album tour now), and there are even a few remixes out. this is a great track to check out and add straight to your ipod, my guess would be that ‘Swoon’ will be played over and over for years to come.

as for the album, “Swoon has one of the album's few discernible choruses and features a rare vocal outing from Rowlands. “Just remember to fall in love/There's nothing else, there's nothing else,” he croons over elastic synth riffs and rubbery bass” (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/music/article-23844096-cds-of-the-week-the-chemical-brothers-and-robyn.do). this track definatly make the rest of the album sound better and raise the chemical brothers to that number 1 spot...

Sharam mixes FIFA’s Official World Cup song ‘Waka Waka’ by Shakira

June 11 – Dance music icon Sharam has remixed Shakira’s Official FIFA World Cup song, ‘Waka Waka‘. The Grammy-winning DJ has applied his unique touch to Shakira’s original, transforming it into a dance floor anthem worthy of a World Cup winner, complete with his signature sound and African-style drums.

Shakira said, “Sharam has brought a unique spin to his interpretation of “Waka Waka”.  He has brought the song to the dancefloor. This is one of those artistic collaborations that makes perfect sense.”
The FIFA World Cup is easily the most widely viewed and followed sporting event in the world, exceeding the Olympics which put the “Waka Waka” remixes on a world stage.  The song is already in the hands of the world’s top DJs and will be released later this month.
Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a sports buff and the FIFA World Cup is the biggest sporting event in the world. To work on the official song is a landmark achievement for me, something I’ve dreamt about doing since making music became a part of my life. I have always admired Shakira’s unique twist on pop music and when she asked me to remix Waka Waka, I didn’t hesitate,” says Sharam.

Chris Lawyer & Thomy - We Gonna Feel It (radio edit)

this is a GREAT song... I could listen to this all day long! very calm, relaxing, and just makes you feel happy! Its like the song is telling a story...
A lot of people think that Deep Dish has made, produced, or remixed this song - but according to their discography you cannot find any info on them doing anything to the song (however they may have played this track somewhere live and mixed it there but nothing more, according to my research)...

Well enjoy and buy this and add it to your ipod
